About The Company
secc is the ultimate holding company responsible for the development of the individual areas of intellectual property. There are currently two wholly owned subsidiaries, secc Hydraulics and secc Oil & Gas, each of which is responsible for commercialising the intellectual property in their respective markets globally.
Matthew Kimpton-Smith
Founder
Matthew is a co-founder of secc with Matthew Readman, secc being part of the group of companies working under the banner of the Cygnet Engineering Developments group. Matthew is a qualified chartered accountant with a degree in economics from Cambridge University. He has both consultancy and corporate finance experience within PriceWaterhouse Cooper and BOC plc.
For the last decade he has been Managing Director of a group of engineering companies, developing and manufacturing their products in the UK and selling to a truly global market from their UK base. |
Matt Readman
Founder
Matthew was apprenticed at Sir James Farmer Norton and then went into a research position at UMIST for the Ministry of Defence, Defence Research Agency and Qinetiq on every loading condition, carrying out all physical experiments. His first patent, a grab ring, which enables push together technology for steel pipes with the ability to carry very high loads, was sold by UMIST Ventures.
Matthew moved on to start his own company, Readman Fittings Limited, where he continued to successfully develop several profitable products for UMIP (UMIST Ventures) before joining forces with Matthew Kimpton-Smith to form secc in 2005. |
Pete Banham
Sales Director
Pete has worked within the Cygnet Engineering Developments Group for the
past 5 years and has recently taken on sales responsibility for secc.
Before joining Cygnet, Pete graduated as a chemist and cut his sales teeth
in the Process Water Treatment Industry and Performance Chemistries within
the Oil and Gas Industry.
Pete's role within the Cygnet Engineering Developments Group will be to
ensure that the budgets are exceeded in all of the companies under the
Cygnet umbrella, with particular attention to SECC and Texkimp. |
Steve Windley
Sales Manager
secc Oil & Gas Ltd has appointed Steve as their Sales Manager to develop sales of their Hot Break / Hot Make Subsea Pressure Balanced Safety Breakaway Couplings and Gas Lift Connectors in major deep water projects.
Steve brings with him nearly 20 years sales experience in high pressure valves, pumps and hydraulic control systems, both in the UK and the Middle East. |
Colin Cliffe
Finance Manager
Colin, a qualified accountant, is an important part of the secc team. He brings with him a wealth of experience from the world of manufacturing. He has a B.A. (Honours) in Business Studies from Manchester and is a qualified management accountant.
Colin has held several senior positions during his career, including that of Financial Director and has been responsible for the successful implementation of ERP systems resulting in more efficient and cost effective production. |
Martin Saint
Senior Project Engineer
Martin served his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker with General Motors in the UK. For the next six years he was an industrial, marine and off-shore fluid power installation and commissioning engineer.
Since then Martin has had fourteen years working as a design engineer for fluid control systems, valves and actuators in the industrial marine, offshore and motor sport industries. His experience is in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and component design within the machine design environment.
He joined secc in 2006 as a design engineer. |
