PPF & ZHL technologies

The secc technology is focused on joining pipes or hoses of any size, working at any internal pressure, without the need for threaded technology or latches. The technology is very simple in design and this makes it very safe for a wide variety of applications.

With the further development of the Hot Make Hot Break Dry coupling secc have been able to address the growing concerns about environmental issues associated with damage to hoses and pipelines from external axial loadings.

As working pressures and depths for sub-sea applications are ever increasing, the scaleability of the secc technology makes it an increasingly effective and necessary solution.

PPF Technology
The original self energised coupling technology.Best suited for hydraulic and pneumatic products where some losses in the connection are acceptable.

ZHL Technology
Push together technology will a full through bore. Widest range of applications from small hydraulic fittings to large, fully piggable sub-sea pipe and weak link connectors.

Hot-Make Hot-Break Dry
Self sealing weak link technology, not affected by either pressure or dimensions.  Provides zero spill in the event of actuation. Coupling can be re-made without de-pressurising the system.

How The Self Energised Coupling Works

Stage 1, 90°
When pressurised the vessels behave as two independent pressure vessels with a fluid connection.

Stage 2, 20°
The vessels continue to behave as 2 independent pressure vessels with a fluid connection.

Stage 3, 0°
The vessels continue to behave as two independent pressure vessels with a fluid connection.
